2023 Fall Recreation Startup Information

We are excited to kick off the Fall recreation soccer program! The first practice night is Wednesday, 9/13, and the the first game day is Sunday, 9/17. For further details, please review all the information below...

The following schedule is for Grades K thru 6th and will be held every Wednesday evening beginning 9/7.

The following game schedule is for Grades Pre-K thru 6th and will be held every Sunday.

Please note that the Pre-K sessions are SUNDAY ONLY. They include concepts/skills activities followed by a scrimmage.

Players must wear the RVSC Recreation uniform that consists of a Red Jersey, White Jersey, Black Shorts and Black Socks.

If you have ordered your uniform and it has not yet arrived, players should wear appropriate athletic clothes. Please direct any order questions to: Stacy Casden, Promofect Apparel, stacy@promofect.com

Shinguards:

In addition to the recreation uniform, players must wear shinguards preferably under their socks as this offers the best protection. 

Footwear:

Any athletic shoe is fine for Pre-K and Kindergarten. For 1st Grade and older we recommend a basic soccer cleat as the artificial turf surface can be slippery when wet.

Soccer Balls:

While the program will have soccer balls for the planned activities, we encourage all players to bring an age-appropriate soccer ball with their name on it.

• Pre-K thru 1st Grade: Size 3 ball
• 2nd thru 6th Grade: Size 4 ball
• Grade 7 and older: Size 5 ball

WEATHER:

Parents should plan on all sessions (practices and games), being held has scheduled.  Should the weather be severe (heavy rain, thunderstorms) and warrant a cancellation, parents will be emailed and a notice will be posted on our website, and social media accounts.

RESCHEDULING:

All efforts will be made to follow the published session schedule, however, unforeseen circumstances due to weather or conflicts with other events can arise and cause a session to be cancelled.  The final week of the season is planned as a "makeup" week and will only be used if 2 or more sessions are cancelled. Cancelled sessions with not be refunded.
