2023 fall RECREATION PROGRAM INFORMATION

The RVSC Fall Recreation program is our clubs largest recreation program. The program strives to teach and enhance fundamental soccer skills and play tactics. The program is designed to meet the needs of the first-time soccer player, as well as the experienced but casual player, all in a fun-filled learning environment.

Those seeking increased skill development and a competitive play environment are invited to try out for our Competitive League teams. Visit the RVSC website homepage and click TRYOUTS from the COMPETITIVE dropdown list.

Objectives:

*Develop and enhance age-appropriate foundational skills & techniques

*Learn field positioning and tactical play skills

*Understand the basic rules of the game

*Build confidence as a player and a teammate  

*HAVE FUN!!!

Eligibility:

Boys & Girls, Pre-K thru 6th Grade.
*Must be at least 4 years old to participate*

Skill Level:

Beginner to experienced recreational players are welcome. Please note that Competitive League players are not eligible for this program

Format:

Pre-K has ONE session every Sunday that combines skill teaching and scrimmage play.

Grades K-6 have ONE practice and ONE game each week.

All practices are held Wednesday evenings between 6:00-7:00pm or 7:15-8:15pm. All games are held Sunday afternoons between 10:00am-1:00pm.

The detailed practices and game schedule will be published in August. 

Cancelled practices or games due to weather or school events will not be rescheduled or refunded.

The last final practice and game session are reserved as a makeup date. 

2023 Dates:

PRACTICES (Wednesdays): 9/13, 9/20, 9/27, 10/4, 10/11, 10/18, 10/25, 11/1, 11/8 (makeup if needed).

GAMES (Sundays): 9/17, 9/24, 10/1, 10/8, 10/15, 10/22, 10/29, 11/5, 11/12 (makeup date if needed).

Teams:

For Pre-K , play groups of 5-7 players that will be assigned each Sunday.

For Grades K-6, teams are formed based on grade level:

• K-1st will have teams combing boys & girls
• Grades 2nd and older will have separate teams for boys & girls. 

While we attempt to group children from the same school, this may not always be feasible due to total registered players in each grade/gender, planned team size, schools represented and available coaches.

Requests to be placed on a certain team, with another player, or with a particular coach are generally not considered. 

Uniform:

Players are required to have a complete recreation uniform that consists of: 1 red jersey, 1 white jersey, black shorts & black socks. Full uniforms or replacement items should be ordered by August 15th. Players may wear a uniform from a previous recreation season.

Registration & Costs:

• Regular Registration (Thru 8/15): $125
• Late Registration (After 8/15): $150

Registration closes on 9/15 for all age groups.

Registrations may be cancelled for full refunds up until 8/15. Refund requests after 8/15 will result in a credit towards a future RVSC program.

All uniform orders are FINAL and not eligible for refunds.
